Connect Velocity to BrokerDam

Bring the deals and clients you already originate in Velocity (Newton) into BrokerDam — without typing them in twice.

What it does

Velocity is where a lot of Canadian brokers submit and track their applications, and BrokerDam is where you run the relationship around them. The integration links the two so the file you built in Velocity shows up in BrokerDam as a real deal record, attached to real contacts.

When you run a sync, BrokerDam pulls your deals along with the people on them — the borrower and any co-borrowers, each created as its own contact rather than a name buried in a note. It brings across the numbers and details you'd otherwise re-type: mortgage amount, purchase price where applicable, key dates, the lender on the file, and the subject property address. Deal stages are mapped onto BrokerDam's pipeline so a file arrives in a sensible place instead of landing at the top of your board.

The practical result is no re-keying. You keep originating the way you already do, and your CRM stops being a second data-entry job.

How it works

  1. In Velocity, open your account settings and generate an API key for BrokerDam.
  2. In BrokerDam, go to Settings → Integrations, choose Velocity, and paste the key. It's stored server-side — it never sits in your browser.
  3. Click Sync. BrokerDam fetches your deals and contacts and shows you what came across. Run a sync again whenever you want to bring in new or updated files.

Syncing runs when you ask it to, and it runs in one direction — Velocity into BrokerDam. Nothing is written back to your Velocity account.

Co-borrowersCreated as their own contacts and linked to the deal
Mortgage fieldsMortgage amount, purchase price, key dates, lender, property address

Older history: the CSV path

The API reaches your recent book, not every file you've ever written. If you want years of history in BrokerDam — funded deals for renewal campaigns, past clients for your database marketing — export it from Velocity as a file and bring it in through BrokerDam's file import. You map the columns once, and the archive lands alongside the deals coming in over the API.

Most brokers do this once at setup: import the archive, connect the key, and let the sync handle the current book from there.

Frequently asked questions

Does BrokerDam pull my whole Velocity history?
The API reaches your recent book rather than your entire archive. For older files, export a CSV from Velocity and bring it in through BrokerDam's file import — the two paths sit side by side, so your recent deals sync and your history is imported once.
Does BrokerDam write back to Velocity?
No. Syncing is one direction today: Velocity into BrokerDam. Nothing BrokerDam does changes, creates or deletes records in your Velocity account.
Is my Velocity data safe?
Your API key is stored server-side and encrypted, never in the browser and never exposed to client-side code. Synced data is stored in Canada, and you can revoke the key in Velocity or disconnect the integration in BrokerDam at any time.
