FAQ

Does BrokerDam sync with Velocity?

Yes. One direction, on demand, using your own Velocity API key.

Yes. BrokerDam connects to Velocity through the Velocity API using a key you generate and control. You paste that key into BrokerDam once, and from then on you can run a sync whenever you want it.

The sync brings across deals along with borrower and co borrower records. Names, contact details and the deal information Velocity exposes land in BrokerDam as proper records, not as a flat file you have to reconcile by hand. Because it runs on demand rather than constantly in the background, you decide when your book updates, which matters if you are mid way through cleaning up your data.

The sync moves in one direction only: from Velocity into BrokerDam. Nothing you do in BrokerDam writes back to Velocity. That is deliberate. Velocity stays the system of record for submission, and BrokerDam becomes the place where the relationship, the marketing and the follow up live. It also means there is no scenario where a BrokerDam edit quietly alters a submitted file.

The practical limit worth knowing is history. The API reaches roughly five years back, so a sync will pick up recent and current business but not a book that stretches further than that. If you have been writing deals for a decade, the older portion comes in through file import, which has no such window. Many brokers do both: sync for the recent years, import for the archive.

One more detail brokers ask about: the Deals Out API does not carry social insurance numbers, so no SIN values move through the integration at all.

The full field mapping and a step by step setup guide are on the Velocity integration page.

Everything in BrokerDam is included in one plan. $99 CAD per month or $999 per year, per user.
